Maleny Morfen is a guitarist and composer from Mexico City, based in New York City. She started playing classical guitar at the age of 12 and wrote her first original song at the age of 13. Some years later she started playing electric guitar.
While attending college in Mexico, she worked as a studio musician and gigged with various Mexican singers and bands.
In 2013, Maleny released her first self-produced solo EP “Aire”, which is a mixture of instrumental rock and rock-pop. All guitar parts were played and composed by Maleny. The EP was gained Maleny much exposure, including an interview on the Mexican Educational TV Network on National TV.
Shortly after the release of “Aire”, she moved to New York City to pursue her music career.
Currently Maleny is living in NYC performing with a rock band at well-known NYC venues such as The Bitter End, Spike Hill Music, Cameo and Rockwood Music Hall.
